THE IDEA

What CricArcade is

CricArcade is a set of cricket management games and an open cricket archive, run by one person and free to everyone. You are never the batter or the bowler. You are the person picking the side, setting the field, deciding whether to take the new ball now or hold it for the morning, and living with it. The engine plays the cricket; the judgement is yours.

Three games cover the three formats, because the three formats ask different questions. The Chase is a World Cup draft and a run chase, where the cost of a wicket changes every over. T20 Franchise Manager is an auction and a season, where the squad you buy in February decides what you can do in May. The Follow-On is five days, where the hardest call of the match is usually the one about time rather than runs.

Under all of it sits real cricket. Every player is a real cricketer carrying their own career record, every Test and ODI scorecard in the archive is a match that actually happened, and every IPL auction lot is a real bid. Nothing here is generated for flavour. That archive is free to read whether you ever play a match or not.

THE DIFFERENCE

What makes it different

  1. Real careers, not sliders.A player's ratings come from what they actually did, across their whole record. A batter who scored heavily against pace and struggled against spin plays that way here, and nobody has hand-tuned a favourite upward.

  2. A separate engine per format. One engine stretched across ODI, T20 and Test cricket produces Test matches that behave like long T20s. Each format is modelled on its own terms, which is why a five-day pitch degrades and a T20 death over does not feel like an ODI middle over.

  3. Six eras of Test cricket.Batting in 1930 was not batting in 2015. The Test game knows which era it is in and plays accordingly, so an all-time XI is a genuine collision between periods rather than everyone dragged to a modern average.

  4. Opponents that captain back. The AI side rotates its bowlers, protects a tiring spell, attacks a new batter and sets fields to a plan. Beating it is a cricket problem, not a patience problem.

  5. Leaderboards you can trust.A result submitted to a global leaderboard is re-checked before it stands, so the tables are a record of cricket played rather than of numbers typed.

THE ARCHIVE

The games sit on top of a public cricket database. All of it is free, none of it needs an account, and it is worth a browse on its own.

QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

What is CricArcade?

CricArcade is a free, browser-based cricket platform built around three tactical simulators: The Chase, an ODI World Cup draft and run chase; T20 Franchise Manager, an auction and season game across the IPL, the BBL and other leagues; and The Follow-On, a five-day Test captaincy game. Alongside the games sits an open archive of 2,537 Test and 4,981 ODI scorecards, player records for every cricketer in them, and written guides to the cricket behind it all.

How does the CricArcade simulation engine work?

You make the calls a captain makes and the engine plays the match out ball by ball. Every player carries ratings built from their real career record, and each delivery is resolved against those ratings, the match situation, the state of the pitch and the conditions in front of it. A format has its own engine because the cricket is different: a Test morning and a T20 death over are not the same problem. The same match played again from the same starting point gives the same result, which is what makes leaderboard scores checkable.

Do I need to download an app or create an account to play?

No. Everything runs in any modern desktop or mobile browser with nothing to install. You can play signed out, with your progress saved on your own device, or sign in with Google to sync careers across devices and appear on the global leaderboards.

What cricket formats and historical eras are covered?

All three major formats. One Day Internationals cover every men's Cricket World Cup from 1975 to 2023 and an archive of 4,981 ODIs from 1971 to August 2026. T20 covers 19 IPL auctions from 2008 to 2026 and 15 BBL seasons from 2012 to 2026. Test cricket covers 2,537 matches from 1877 to March 2024, across six distinct eras of how the game was played.

THE MAKER

Who builds it

CricArcade is built and written by , one person, from the first line of code to the last word on the page. The three games began as three separate sites and were merged onto cricarcade.com in August 2026, so that one account, one squad and one leaderboard now carry across all of them. More on the project is on the about page; if a rating looks wrong or something is broken, the contact page reaches me directly.

It stays free on advertising alone. There is no paywall on any game, no ad-free tier you are being nudged towards, and nothing here is a betting product.
